Interactive Zoning MapResidential permits are required prior to the commencement of construction of work within Vernal City for new homes, remodels, additions and set-up of manufactured homes. The initial review typically takes between 2 to 3 weeks for review. The International Residential Code is used for the minimum design standards for construction.
It is strongly recommended that work be completed by a verified Utah Licensed Contractor. However, the State of Utah allows buildings to be constructed by homeowners by completing this Owner Builder Form (PDF) and submitting with your application. Complete the Water Sewer Agreement Form when adding a meter or impact to the City's water and/or sewer.
Because of the increased volume of Solar Photovoltaic Systems being installed in Vernal City, we have added this basic Solar Plan Submittal Checklist (PDF) to help get the plan review process started.
