Section 8.12.060 Residential storage containers--Standards.

    Residential storage containers shall not exceed thirty-five (35) gallon capacity and shall be a tapered can without rings excepting any containers specifically designed to be picked up by automated collection equipment. Residential storage containers excepting automated storage containers, shall not weigh in excess of sixty-five (65) pounds maximum when filled. All containers must have handles and lids for safety and sanitation, and shall be insect and rodent proof. The containers shall be covered when not in use.  Plastic bags manufactured specifically for refuse collection are acceptable. The bag opening shall be secured tightly and the maximum weight of the bags when filled shall not exceed forty (40) pounds. (Ord. 83-28 § 2 (1); as amended by 1993 recodification)
